STEP 1
QUESTIONNAIRES
It is a good idea to do some of the free autism questionnaires to see if you are scoring around scores typical for Autistic people. The RAADS-R (annoying but does a reasonable job) and the CAT-Q are good places to start. If and when you are ready, you can now book directly online for an initial appointment. You will receive a confirmation email with some forms to fill out before your appointment so that we can use the time effectively.

STEP 2
INTAKe
The initial session will be about your history and current functioning. At the end of the session, we will have a good idea of whether assessment is worth considering. If you go ahead with formal assessment, we will book a two-hour appointment within 2 - 4 weeks.

STEP 3
ASSESSMENT
The assessment is about your internal experience of the world. You be asked open-ended questions that are based on the core Autistic differences according to the diagnostic criteria (Australia uses the DSM-5). I use the MIGDAS-2 but it's a tad boring and the marking criteria is (guess the word), so I've added in the good stuff! You can prepare for the assessment by jotting down some thoughts about your social experience, sensory experience, interests, and experience of predictability. You will have some other questionnaires to fill out afterward the assessment, and a family member or friend will fill some out as well if it is safe to do so. At the end, we will book an hour session to go through the results within 2 - 4 weeks.

STEP 4
RESULTS
The feedback session is to go through you results and 'where to from here.' If appropriate, you will receive a letter of confirmation after this session, and you can order a report if you need one. For steps for NDIS, please see the page about this under 'Stuff'.
